Definitions

Our data protection policy aims to be simple and understandable to everyone. This data protection policy generally uses the official terms of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The official definitions can be found in Article 4 of the GDPR.

Data Processing through Visiting Our Website

When you access our web pages, it is technically necessary for data to be transmitted to my web server through your internet browser. The following data is recorded during an active connection to facilitate communication between your internet browser and our web server:

  • Date and time of the request
  • Name of the requested file
  • Page from which the file was requested
  • Access status
  • Used web browser and operating system
  • (Full) IP address of the requesting computer
  • Amount of data transmitted

We collect this data to ensure a smooth connection setup for the website and to enable users to comfortably use our website. The log file also serves the purpose of evaluating system security and stability as well as administrative tasks. The legal basis for the temporary storage of data or log files is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

Contact Form and Contacting via Email

If you send us inquiries via the contact form or email, your details from the inquiry form or your email, including the first and last name, salutation, postal address that you provided, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and for follow-up questions. An email address is required to contact you; providing your name and phone number is voluntary. We do not disclose this data without your consent. The legal basis for processing data is our legitimate interest in responding to your request under Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, and Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR if your request is aimed at concluding a contract. We will delete your data after your request has been processed, provided there are no legal storage obligations. You may object to the processing of your personal data at any time in the case of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

Google Analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies."

Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website to evaluate your use of the website and compile reports on website activity. Google will also use this information to provide the website operator with additional services related to website usage and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other data from Google. Processing is carried out based on consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.

We use Google Analytics with IP anonymization. The IP address transmitted by your browser in the context of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data. We have entered into an order processing agreement with the service provider, in which we require the provider to protect our customers' data and not to pass it on to third parties. As data is transferred to the USA, additional safeguards are required to ensure compliance with GDPR data protection standards. To this end, we have agreed on standard data protection clauses in accordance with Art. 46 para. 2 lit. c GDPR with the provider. These clauses obligate the recipient of the data in the USA to process the data in accordance with the protection level in Europe. In cases where this cannot be ensured by this contractual extension, we seek additional agreements and commitments from the recipient in the USA. The terms of use for Google Analytics and information on data protection can be accessed via the following links: Google Analytics Terms, Google Privacy Policy.

The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer necessary to achieve the purpose of its collection. Data at the user and event level associated with cookies, user identifiers (e.g., User ID) and advertising identifiers (e.g., DoubleClick cookies, Android advertising ID, IDFA [Apple's advertising identifier]) will be deleted at the latest 14 months after their collection. You can prevent cookies from being stored by adjusting your browser settings accordingly. However, please note that if you do this, you may not be able to use all the functions of this website. You can also prevent Google from collecting data generated by cookies and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by downloading and installing the browser add-on available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies that are stored by the browser on your device and contain certain settings for using the website (e.g., for the current session). Cookies serve to make our offer more user-friendly, effective, and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser. Most of the cookies we use are known as "session cookies." They are automatically deleted after your visit. Other cookies remain in your device's memory until you delete them or they expire. These cookies enable us to recognize your browser when you visit the site again.

In some cases, the cookies are used to simplify website processes by storing settings (e.g., storing previously selected options). If personal data is also processed by individual cookies implemented by us, the processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR either for the execution of the contract or in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR to protect our legitimate interests in the best possible functionality of the website and a customer-friendly and effective design of the page visit. You can adjust your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and decide individually on their acceptance or exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general. Each browser differs in the way it manages the cookie settings. This is described in the help menu of each browser, which explains how you can change your cookie settings. You will find these for the respective browsers at the following links:

  • Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enable-and-disable-cookies-website-preferences

You can also individually manage cookies from many companies and features for tailored advertising. Use the appropriate user tools for this purpose, which are available at https://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices. Most browsers also offer a "Do Not Track" feature that lets you indicate that you do not want to be tracked by websites. When this feature is enabled, the browser will tell ad networks, websites, and applications that you want to opt-out of tracking for purposes like behavioral advertising. Information and instructions on how to edit this feature are available from the respective browser providers, e.g., for Mozilla Firefox at: https://addons.mozilla.org/en/firefox/addon/donottrack/. Duration of Personal Data Storage

The duration of the storage of personal data is determined by the relevant legal retention periods (e.g., from commercial law and tax law). After the respective deadline has expired, the corresponding data is routinely deleted. If data is required for contract fulfillment or contract initiation, or if we have a legitimate interest in continuing to store it, the data will be deleted when it is no longer necessary for these purposes or if you exercise your right to revoke or object to the processing according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.
